At Sleeping Giant Ski Area and Zipline, we offer many customer focused outdoor experiences. From skiing groomed runs, to powder stashes in the backcountry, and the largest dual-zipline in Wyoming, Sleeping Giant employees consistently create memories in the outdoors for families and friends to enjoy year-round just 3 miles from Yellowstone National Park’s East Gate.

What to expeCt 

Our winter season will operate from December 23rd through March 27th Friday-Sunday. We will remain open for most holidays during the winter, including all of Winter Break for students. Our summer season typically operates from June 15th through September 15th, seven days a week.

Employee Shuttle

An employee shuttle will be available every day the mountain is operational. This shuttle meets at the Walmart parking lot at 7:30am. A certified driver will drive the crew to the mountain for each shift. 

Benefits

All employees receive one free meal per workday. Those who work a minimum of 14 days will also receive a season pass. Any employees with dependents will receive a pass for those family members. Anyone who has no dependents will receive 5 lift tickets to be shared with friends and family. Being a pass holder also gives free and reduced tickets to partner mountains such as:

Hogadon Ski Area (Casper) - 3 consecutive day tickets 
Snow King Ski Area (Jackson Hole) - 2 free lift tickets 
Antelope Butte Ski Area (Buffalo, Sheridan) - 50% off lift tickets 
Ski Cooper (Colorado) - 3 days free
Soldier Mountain (Idaho) - 3 days free
White Pine Ski Resort (Pinedale) - 3 days free
Snowy Range (Centennial) - 50% off
Grand Targhee (Alta) - multiple discounts based on lodging stay

Fulltime / Year-round All Mountain Ninja

Sleeping Giant seeks an athletic all-mountain ninja who can be the Operations Director's wing-person. This person is able to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair ski lift equipment to ensure safe use and transportation for guests and employees. We are looking for someone who loves the outdoors and lives for adventure. This position is full-time and will pay a competitive wage. This person will be a leader of our Outdoor Operations crew which has a strong dedication to guest service and guest safety. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Confidently perform standard ski lift maintenance and other maintenance tasks as part of a team.

  • Respond to calls from Lift Operations and Ski Patrol in a timely manner.

  • Working safely at heights on towers while using fall protection equipment.

  • Maintaining a positive attitude consistently, including under high-stress situations.

  • Physical work outside in an industrial and outdoor environment, at times during changing and extreme weather conditions.

 

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Basic mechanical skills and aptitude with basic hand and power tools.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism and attention to detail.

  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently move or lift up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds (the standard weight of chairs and rigging equipment).

  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time in adverse weather conditions.

  • Ability to use ladders and work at variable heights; 16 to 70 feet above the ground.

  • Fit to hike up and down the mountain throughout the workday.

  • Team player with a strong work ethic.

 

Work Hours & Benefits:

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays is required for the winter season.

  • Winter season is typically a 10-hour shift, Thursday through Sunday.

  • Free Season Pass to ski after working 14 days for employee and immediate family; spouse/partner and employee’s children.

  • Employee shuttle runs from Cody to Sleeping Giant and back in the evening.

  • One free meal per workday.
