At Sleeping Giant Ski Area and Zipline, we offer many customer focused outdoor experiences. From skiing groomed runs, to powder stashes in the backcountry, and the largest dual-zipline in Wyoming, Sleeping Giant employees consistently create memories in the outdoors for families and friends to enjoy year-round just 3 miles from Yellowstone National Park’s East Gate.

What to expeCt 

Our winter season will operate from December 4th through March 28th Friday-Sunday. We also remain open for most holidays during the winter, including all of Winter Break for students. This year, we have also added night skiing on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Our summer season typically operates from June 15th through September 15th, seven days a week.

Employee Shuttle

An employee shuttle will be available every day the mountain is operational. This shuttle meets in the Walmart parking lot by the Auto Care section at 7:00am and returns around 5:30pm.

Benefits

All employees receive one free meal per workday. Those who work a minimum 14 days will also receive a season pass. Any employees with dependents will receive a pass for those family members. Anyone who has no dependents will receive 5 lift tickets to be shared with friends and family. Being a passholder also gives free and reduced tickets to partner mountains such as:

Hogadon Ski Area - 3 consecutive day tickets (Casper)
Snow King Ski Area - 2 free lift tickets (Jackson Hole)
Antelope Butte Ski Area - 50% off lift tickets (Buffalo, Sheridan)
Ski Cooper (Colorado) - 3 days free
Soldier Mountain (Idaho) - 3 days free
White Pine Ski Resort (Pinedale) - 3 days free
Snowy Range (Centennial) - 50% off
Grand Targhee (Alta) - multiple discounts based on lodging stay

Lift Maintenance Technician

Sleeping Giant seeks a Lift Maintenance Technician to help troubleshoot, maintain, and repair ski lift equipment to ensure safe use and transportation for guests and employees. This position is full-time and starts at $18 per hour and up, depending on experience. This person will be part of our Outdoor Operations crew which has a strong dedication to guest service and guest safety.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Confidently perform standard ski lift maintenance and other maintenance tasks as part of a team.

  • Respond to calls from Lift Operations and Ski Patrol in a timely manner.

  • Working safely at heights on towers while using fall protection equipment.

  • Maintaining a positive attitude consistently, including under high stress situations.

  • Physical work outside in an industrial and outdoor environment, at times during changing and extreme weather conditions.

 

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Basic mechanical skills and aptitude with basic hand and power tools.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently move or lift up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds (the standard weight of chairs and rigging equipment).

  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time in adverse weather conditions..

  • Ability to use ladders and work at variable heights; 16 to 65 feet above the ground.

  • Team player with a strong work ethic.

Kitchen Cashier

Sleeping Giant seeks an efficient and courteous Cashier who possesses excellent customer service skills. This position is full-time and starts at $15 per hour. This person will be part of our kitchen staff and may need to politely respond to guest complaints, process refunds or exchanges of items, and help maintain a clean workspace. The cashier is a very important part of the guest experience at Sleeping Giant where patience and kindness are key.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Welcoming customers, providing recommendations, and answering questions.

  • Operating our point of sale system; Square.

  • Process customer’s food and drink selections.

  • Ensure prices and quantities are accurate.

  • Accept payments and make correct change when processing cash.

  • Issue receipts to guests who want them.

  • Help the kitchen staff process food ordered online.

  • Assist with cleaning duties and helping to close the kitchen at the end of the day.

  • Other duties as needed.

 

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.

  • Customer service or cashier experience preferred.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service.

  • Helpful, courteous approach to resolving complaints.

 

Work Hours & Benefits:

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays are required for the winter season.

Kitchen Runner

Sleeping Giant seeks two efficient and courteous Kitchen Runners who possess excellent customer service skills. These positions are full-time and start at $15 per hour. These team members will be part of our kitchen staff and may need to politely respond to guest complaints, offer guest advice, and help maintain a clean workspace. Kitchen runners are a very important part of the guest experience at Sleeping Giant where patience and kindness are key.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Uphold sanitation and food safety principles.

  • Deliver drink orders to customers.

  • Call out food orders for customers to pick up.

  • Bus tables by removing dirty dishes and trash.

  • Help the kitchen staff to organize food ordered online.

  • Run food to other areas including the yurt or outside tables.

  • Check in with guests to ensure their experience is satisfactory and relay that information to the Kitchen Manager.

  • Assist with cleaning duties and helping to close the kitchen at the end of the day.

  • Other duties as needed.

 

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service.

Line Cook

Sleeping Giant seeks three efficient and courteous Line Cooks who love to prepare food and have an eye for detail. These positions are  full-time and start at $15 per hour. These people will be part of our kitchen staff and may need to politely respond to guest complaints, offer guest advice, and help maintain a clean workspace. Our Line Cooks are a very important part of the guest experience at Sleeping Giant where patience and kindness are key.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Uphold sanitation and food safety principles.

  • Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies.

  • Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs.

  • Prepare food by cutting, chopping, mixing and preparing a variety of food items.

  • Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sauteing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

  • Clean and sanitize food and cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. 

  • Assist with other cleaning duties and help to close the kitchen at the end of the day.

  • Other duties as needed.

 

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service.
