Thank You for a Great Season

Dear friends of Sleeping Giant,
First of all, we wanted to thank you for your support this winter season. The weather was not always on our side this year, but we were happy to see so many of you back and appreciate you supporting your hometown mountain.
While day pass sales were down from last year, we had another banner year of season pass sales and one of the most successful school group and ski school seasons based on the numbers we have on record from past seasons. We are grateful to everyone that helped make this happen.
This season was also a season of incredible progress in terms of modernizing mountain infrastructure and equipment, things that aren’t always noticed by the causal guest but we wanted to give a tip of the cap to our mountain crew for getting so much work done to improve the lifts and other critical infrastructure.
We also wanted to use this letter to officially announce that Sleeping Giant will not be open for the summer season. We know this will be a disappointment for those that were hoping to enjoy the zipline, and we share that disappointment. However, given the major changes that Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine is causing to the world and our family in particular, we simply do not have the bandwidth to run the mountain this summer. We do plan however to continue to maintaining and improving the mountain, and currently plan to open for the winter season.
Please note that we are open to renting the mountain’s lodge, kitchen, and other facilities to those might be interested in using it for events etc, provided of course that those activities are approved by our friends at the USFS. Please send inquiries to GM@skisg.com
Our only goal when taking over SG was to do what we could to make sure that our community didn’t lose such a unique asset, and that continues to be our core mission. We see this as a partnership with the citizens of Park County and are very thankful to those of you that are helping to make SG a hometown mountain that everyone can enjoy.
Have a great summer!
Nick & Yulia
